Amalaki has long been used by Ayurveda physicians as a natural remedy, alternative medicine that has its roots in ancient time. Amalaki is one of the  most bitter-tasting fruit that is not usually eaten on its own, but is prepared as part of a meal or concentrated as a supplement.

According to Ayurvedic medicine, Amalaki helps to improve the health function of various health problems, liver, heart, brain, and lungs. It is an ingredient in a popular Ayurvedic remedy called Triphala is thought to boost immunity and treat various health conditions. In Sanskrit, the word Amalaki means "maintainer".

Researchers have concluded that since Amalaki has helped maintain the length of telomeres, it can encourage healthy aging over time. Further research is needed to determine how amlaki can affect aging and age-related diseases.

6. Possible side effects

Since amalki is rich in fiber, it can cause bloating, abdominal pain, and diarrhea in gastrointestinal problems.1 Also, it can lower blood sugar, which can be a problem when taking medication for people with diabetes7. Dosage and preparation
